Obituary for Patricia Ann Mastran

Tallmadge - Patricia Ann Mastran, 85, passed away on January 31, 2018 at City Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit in Akron.
Patricia, also known as Pat, Patsy and Patty, was born to Robert Leo Saunders and Frances Marie Saunders on March 25, 1932 and raised in Springfield Ohio where she was salutatorian and head drum majorette for the Springfield Spartans. After graduation she worked at Firestone Tire & Rubber Company alongside her father, brother and sister. In 1955, she married the love of her life, Henry Richard Mastran, an architect and WWII veteran, and gave birth to seven children. As she raised her children alongside her husband she also served as room mother and PTA Member for Tallmadge Overdale School, and was a member of the Tallmadge YWCA. She, her husband and children were avid swimmers. She worked with her husband as co-owner of Mastran & Associates and later C.M. Building. Pat also established a retail consignment shop called the “Blue Room” in Tallmadge.
Pat was a member of Christ the King Church and later the Blessed Trinity Parish, both in Akron.
Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her passion was caring for her family whom gave her great love and joy. She was a very smart and creative person, a wonderful cook and she loved the color lavender. She will be remembered by all of her family and will be forever missed.
Pat was preceded in death by her beloved parents Robert and Frances Saunders, her sister Dolores Wallace and her husband Wilbur. She is survived by her husband of 62 years and the love of her life, Henry Richard Mastran and her seven children: Terra, Angela, Henry II (Ina), John (Laura), Trina, Paul (Carol), Robert (Chris); grandchildren Jennifer, Joseph, Paul David, Sarah, Scott, Angela, Michael, Brenna and Karlie, and four great granddaughters: Alexandria, Aphrodita, Harmony and Araya. Pat leaves her brother Robert L. Saunders (Kathy) of Maryland and sister Cheryl Ambrus (Ed) of Canton.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday, 10:30 am. at Blessed Trinity, 300 E Tallmadge Ave., Akron with Reverend Joseph Warner, celebrant. Immediately following mass, burial services will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Blessed Trinity, 300 E Tallmadge Ave., Akron.
