Dolores Klein (Czartoszewski) passed away, suddenly and gently, Saturday evening February 27th, 12 days after her 80th birthday, which she described as the "best birthday I ever had." She was surrounded by family as she passed.
Dolores was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was born in Akron in 1941 and graduated from North High School in 1958. Her life changed when she met her soulmate, John Klein at a wedding. They were married in 1960 and were blessed with 61 wonderful years together that included four children, caring for their parents and beloved nieces and nephews, and seeing what wonderful people their grandchildren became.
In early life Dolores taught catechism to children with special needs, offering a path to confirmation in the Catholic church, which wasn't a given at the time. She would go on to have a long career in the hotel industry, bossing everyone around and lovingly mentoring a wayward few. She was always the force in the room and was strong, elegant and smart. She devoured puzzles and delighted John by correctly answering every question on Jeopardy.
Dolores is preceded in death by her parents, brothers William, Leonard and Henry and beloved nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her husband John, her sister Stephanie, her children Lucy (Kevin), Rita, John Jr., James (David), and her grandchildren Reid, Max, Amelia, Sam, Geyza and Wesley.
Dolores' glow was absolute and those who knew her will feel her warm embrace always.
