Dr Harold Allistone Frazier, age 96 years, of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and recently of Silver Spring, MD passed away early on Sunday, May 23rd, after a long struggle with complications following a COVID-19 infection. Dr. Frazier was a devoted father and husband and a committed Family Physician.  He was born in Moradabad India on April 9, 1925 to Amelia Beatrice (Allistone) and Crother Lee Frazier. His parents were working as missionaries, teaching children and adults when he was born.  He grew up in India, England, and Raleigh, NC.  Harold graduated from Hugh Morrison High School (Raleigh, NC) in 1943.

After graduation from high school, he joined the US Army and completed basic training at Fort Lee in VA. In early 1944, he was deployed to Burma in South East Asia, where he served in the China-Burma-India (CBI) Theater from 1944-1946.

Following World War II, he enrolled at Kent State University.  During his time at Kent, he met and married Audrey Rose Kana of Akron Ohio in 1951 on the day of his graduation. They subsequently moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he attended medical school at the Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 1955.  He completed his Internship at Green Cross Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls (now Western Reserve Hospital) in 1956.  He practiced Family Medicine in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio from 1956 until 1998. 

Dr. Frazier was committed to serving local organizations and was very interested in the development and education of youth in the community.   He contributed his time, energy,  passion and wisdom to numerous area organizations. He served as the Medical Director of the Summit County Board of Health for nearly a decade.  He was a member of the Akron Area Junior Chamber of Commerce and Akron Jaycees.  Dr. Frazier also helped run the Annual Soap Box Derby Competition at Derby Downs. Harold served as the team physician for the Cuyahoga Falls Tigers Pee Wee Football Team. He also was an avid supporter of the Cuyahoga Falls High School Band and Football Team and various teams at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio. He was a longtime member of the Silver Lake Country Club.

In addition, Dr. Frazier was a loyal supporter of the  Akron Symphony Orchestra, the Greater Akron Area Meals–On–Wheels, the Weaver School and Sheltered Workshop in Tallmadge OH (now Weaver Industries) and the Special Olympics. For most of his adult life, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Chancel Choir in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Rose Kana Frazier – married 38 years from 1951 to 1989 and by his second wife, Jean Sessions Kirby Frazier- married  22 years from 1992 to 2014.

He is survived by his two sisters, Grace Irene Frazier Jones (Neptune, NJ), Edith Christine Frazier (Asbury Park, NJ); his children and their spouses; Karen Lynne Frazier Tsai (Chen-Lung Tsai), Brea CA, Harold Allistone Frazier II (Aletta Ann Bork Frazier), Kensington MD, Jean Ann Frazier (Sherry Lee Winternitz), Boston MA, Carol Diane Frazier, Placentia CA, Robert George Frazier (Susan Larson Frazier), Cary NC; Grandchildren and Spouses; Amy Pei-Je Tsai Wong  (Kevin Matthew Wong), Los Angeles CA, Lindsay Yi-Chen Tsai Los Angeles CA, Ian Allistone Frazier, Colton’s Point MD, Duncan Casimir Frazier, Kensington MD, Elizabeth Kana Frazier, Atlanta GA, Olivia Page Frazier, Richmond VA; Great grandchildren, Kaleia Noelle Wong (Los Angeles, CA)

A visitation hour will be held on June 5, 2021 at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio at 245 Portage Trail,  followed by a celebration of his life and service of remembrance at 11 am. Interment will be at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio directly following the service. Those who wish to remember Harold in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Special Olympics, Weaver Industries in Akron, OH, American Cancer Society, or the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center at University of Massachusetts Medical School.
